Ode to Aunt Sherry
Man, it's been a while since I blogged!! But don't fret, I've still been thrifting and consigning!! My weeks have been like this:
Monday: Thrifting
Tuesday: My new pottery class!! (LOVE)
Wednesday: Yoga #adventureswithJill
Cleaning my thrift finds and getting ready to take pictures
Thursday: Take pictures of my thrift treasures and listing them
Friday: Make the rounds at the consignment shops.
This is when I collect my money from sales and drop off more goodies!
I have also been Instagram-ing a bunch and sharing stuff on Facebook. (I hope you're following!)
Here's the links in case you need them!

But let's get to the point I'm getting to in this blog. I've told you that my Aunts have been key in my bargain hunting training! Grandma and Grandpa raised quality collectors and a keen eye for a bargain! My mom taught me the pursuit of high quality (which is usually hard to do on my budget!). Thankfully, I married a guy with a mom who also has a keen eye at a good yardsale! She can spot those signs from a mile away!
Aunt Sherry and I have been having 'virtual garage sales' on eBay for years (I've been on eBay since 2004) and our listing skills got a us a job together listing items for a big time eBayer-guy. That was in about 2011. Now, we're both selling on our own.
Don't forget to find more of my crazy good finds at my eBay store:

Or another of my favorite consignment shops, Rags, and their website:

This place is fun too, and they pay cash upfront for really cool stuff:

And this is always a good shop too. They also pay cash for really nice preowned clothes.

She sells stuff on eBay that she finds at yardsales, thrift stores, auctions, and estate sales. Her and my dad and my Aunt Judy are OG Pickers for sure! Check out this crazy good pick she just grabbed at a recent auction. It was in a pile of junk she got for $1.00!!! (WOW!!) Yeah, so check out that sale price!!!
We swap tips and treasure hunting stories all the time, and a while ago, she told me how she always picks up Rayban sunglass cases - even if they don't have the shades with them. She sells them every time and can pick them up at yardsales for $.25 or Goodwill for $.99. So now, when I go to the Goodwill Retail Stores, I always pick them up! It's become a problem as you can tell in my last thrifting adventure yesterday:
They don't make a girl rich, but they are always a good pick-up!
So, Aunt Sherry sells al lot of vintage bric-a-brac. You know, lamps, drawer pulls, bird cages, tupperware, and trash cans. That's right, I said TRASH CANS!! Apparently, its a collectors item and for people that are restoring or re-doing a home or space - it is a detail that completes the look. And if you're going for vintage, you want the real deal. So, on my last trip, when I picked up those Ray-ban cases, I picked up my first vintage trashcan liner. Thanks Aunt Sherry! I blame this weird collection on you! Hahahahahhahahahahahaaaaa!! Let's hope this funky little trash collector sells!!
In the meantime, I'm still picking up things in my wheelhouse (mostly clothes, shoes, and purses) and putting them on my Facebook page, and on my Instagram account, and my eBay site, and taking them to my favorite consignment shops!! You can see more about those fun finds there!
