Fri Yay!
Friday's are another big "work day" for me. A friend of mine calls it pay-day because I take many of my nicest cast-aways to the consignment shops. Right now, I have about 6-8 consignment shops that I take things to and all have a slightly different demographic so if I find nice, quality clothes or goodies, I have a good place to take them.
Now, I realize that living in Denver area, I have more options that other locations. I mean, my mom, in Central Illinois only has about 2 or 3 places that she can consign and has to drive quite a ways to get to them. I'm very lucky, and grateful, to be able to go to some very nice consignment shops locally.
A lot of you have probably got a Plato's Closet near you, or have heard about the place. There have been lots of on-line articles that talk about taking your clothes there to make a few bucks. I do take a few things there, but it's usually my last stop. They are a great place to sell your Old Navy, Forever 21, and H&M clothes and shoes, and sometimes you can find a lot of nice brands there, but quiet honestly, I'm way older than their demographic and they don't usually buy stuff from me. My youngest daughters, now they could make bank there with the same collection of clothes!! They just don't like to buy from people over 30, in my experience. I also like to collect clothes that come from places like anthropologie, lululemon, patagonia, Eileen Fisher, J. Crew, Sundance, Soft Surroundings, Filson, Pilcro, and Tory Burch. Those brands, and the others that I like, are usually more of a 'grown-up' demographic and I find I do better in other markets than Plato's. Plus, they usually earn me more money!
Today, I took some things to one of my favorite consignment shops, Rags. They have shops in Boulder and Denver and have a super great following! They can be pretty picky about what they take, and I like that they look for that quality. As a shopper, I would want that. I usually do pretty well there and sometimes, they put my treasures front and center in their displays!! Check out my BCBG booties right up front:
I've also got a cute Royal Robbins skirt there:
And a really nice 100% cashmere sweater that they have in their "high-end designer" section:
And a really sweet little Brighton purse right up front:
All of these treasures are at Rags, one of the nicest consignment stores that I have ever been to. You could check-out all the cool things that they have there, including my awesome finds! Right now, I have a little more than 35 items there!

And all of these really nice goodies, that I take to consignment, I have collected on my thrifting adventures! They are super cute things that are good quality and just need to find new homes. Sometimes that home is with me, maybe these, that I've shared with you today, could be with you! I'm like your personal thrifting shopper!!
